Description: Tim made proposals for the ex EMI factory site to treat its entire fabric as an instrument. These included temporary adaptations to use the hollow shell of the ‘Phoenix’ building as a large-scale wind instrument; social spaces in and around the former power house ‘Neptune’ during its partial demolition; a strategy to make use of the existing voids in the ‘Vulcan’ building’s massive volume; and structurally-anchored tensioned strings and metal plates respond to external activity and internal performances.
