  • Site, date: Hayes, October 2016

  • Client: Hayes Town Partnership, The Sharks, Hillington Council

  • Audience: Hayes current and future residents -Impact: Local policy

  • Student/organisation, discipline: BA Architecture

  • Description: The diverse proposals for a new Shelter for The Sharks made a lasting impression within the Hayes community. The proposals showed the potential of Hayes Canal becoming a regenerated area of value, with desirable public spaces and activities. The proposals had great influence on Rolfe Judd’s planning application for the Brickfield scheme in Hayes, as the council wanted to see public facilities within the housing development. Rolfe Judd was urged to include a canoe club in Shackles Dock in order to gain permission for the planning application.
